Announcing S&S Barbell Bushwick! 🎉

For a lot of you this isn’t a surprise. We’ve been working on a second location for quite some time now (and have secretly launched our new website and have already signed up our first members) but we’re excited to officially announce S&S Bushwick, our second location!

Located at 1000 Broadway, the new gym is less than a minute walk from the Myrtle Broadway JM stop, 15 minutes walk from the Myrtle Willoughby G stop, and an 18 minute walk from the Morgan L stop. That means easy access via public transit for all of Brooklyn and even Queens via the J line.

The Space

We’re teaming up again with Crossfit Outbreak to offer some amenities you don’t normally see in an NYC strength gym. The new location will feature 12 squat racks, a 30 ft weightlifting lane, 1000kg+ of Rogue Calibrated Plates, an assortment of competition quality power and olympic bars, specialty bars, select isolation machines, turf, several warmup areas, a lane for carries, group class and personal training area, and much more. We’ll also have A/C, showers, and locker/towel service.

Each member will have 24 hour access to the barbell and bodybuilding area, and 24 hour access to the full 5000 sq ft dual-gym facility between classes.

Meet Coach Joe

None of this would be possible without our new full-time coach Joe Cristando. Joe has been an S&S lifter since our first month, and has since notched a couple 9 for 9 meets on his belt, started coaching in Brooklyn, and has been one of the most dependable coaching voices at S&S Williamsburg. He’s coming on as our first full-time coach in NYC and General Manager of both locations. This means that, for the first time, we’ll be offering Coached Memberships as an add-on to each of our membership types.

New Memberships

After two years in Brooklyn we’ve learned quite a bit about getting New Yorkers strong. We know flexibility in their gym schedule is important and access to good coaching is rare. That’s why we’re making coaching optional for all of our memberships, including our new Off-Peak membership. Click the image above to learn more about what we’ll be offering.
